June 28, 2008

We ventured on south on Aleta about 75 miles, and while the water was purple and perfectly setup, we found one large area of porpoise that yielded a bakers dozen of tuna in the 20-55lb range. We got those in by the lunch bell, and left em biting searching for the targeted species of Black or Blue. We did manage to spot a striper and a few sails, but that was about it and made our first day.  The second day saw us head north past the pea soup at Corbetania and to the cleaner waters of el Banco. We managed a half dozen tuna to 40lbs, saw breaking fish in the 100lb range, saw a few small sails, and a King size dorado that was just under 60lbs, a fatso for sure. Manny dropped a caballito on its' nose and pulled in a prize.

JUNE 23, 2008

As the new big fish season fast approaches, we'll stay on top of our reports. The last month we've seen some good sign of the largers, and caught plenty of the smallers. Water clarity is much improved, and temps are fast approaching the mid 80's. Some small to mid size Blue Marlin have been hooked too. This week we'll be fishing to the SW and will report back by thursday the 26th. See ya soon amigos.

Oct 22- Last trip out was a good one before the storm rolled in. The group from Cal got in a couple days fishing and got into some of these.

hieshima1020-2.png

Sep 1st- Friday fishing saw Pacifico land 1 tuna around 130lbs and also land a Blue Marlin around 400lbs. The Blue was tail wrapped and blew its' heart out during the fight. Sad ending for a beautiful fish, but none of it would go to waste. Also had 3 short bites on the tuna early. Very good sign of fish in the area right now. Manny

Aug 30th- Hola!!!!!!! What's up everybody? We are alive, Pacifico is well, and the fish are biting. That's what really matters, right?? Anyway, fishing is decent, we have great customers who have no cameras , or do and have limited email ability! You know who you are! But all is good, we are out Friday thru Sunday and September is looking pretty booked, so reports SHOULD be free flowing. Until then, tight lines companeros, Manny

July 26th- Yes amigos , we are still alive and around and well.We made it thru last weeks tournament , a few charters with some respectable fish, and then we hit a bit of a jackpot. Thank you to Fred and Ryan Schmid from South Florida for their perseverance and faith, and a little luck to get their fish of a lifetime. A whopper Yellowfin that taped at 349lbs, 79x59.5, and his little cousin that came in at 210+. The big one was caught on an Avet LX 6/3 with 60lb Blackwater spectra and a leader of 100lb Yozuri fluoro on a 7/0 Hayabusa magnum circle. Thank you guys, Manny

July 4th- Had some ugly water out at Banco, but there were lots of bullet tunas a few miles off the high spot and we were able to catch a few and rig them up. 6 tuna up to 80 pounds and 5 pargo up to 50lbs and one amberjack made for a great day. Manny

June 25th- Wide open Tunas, had a great time.

June 18th- Alright amigos, since we are about to start our summer party in paradise we might as well get the website going again. I know how some of you are jonesing for something fishy. We start our summer charters manana, but we did go out last week south and west for some Blue Marlin action and a taste of tuna. I'll share some pictures and may we all get ready for a big season. Gracias Companeros.

Captain Manny

May 2- Spent a few days on Redneck fishing with Brant, Clarke, and Juan Pablo. Lots of life around and scored some tunas and this nice Dorado.  Manny

mannydodo_5034741.png

April 28th- Another banner day. Found that same pod of spinners and worked it for 4 marlin and 6 tuna and 2 dorados. Tuna were all under 50lbs but still a great day of fishing. Captain Manny

April 27th- Different day, different result. We found an offshore motherlode. Blue marlin, striped marlin tuna and dorado on a giant pod of spinners. Fantastic day today.  Manny

pv427.png

April 26- Went out far and wide today, and though we saw some sign the fish were generally down today. Scored a nice dorado, a small tuna and a few bottom dwellers.

April 24th- Tuna madness, it went wide open as it can get, and for April it's awesome. 16 tuna up to 160lbs today.

April 21- Tunas and lots of them came to play. A dozen tuna 25-75lbs jumped in the boat along with an Amberjack that bit our kite bait. Bigger ones are out there, it's looking really good. Should be going out 4 times over the next week so check back.   Captain Manny

img_0392.png

April 4th- Made sure we got to pull on something today. Caught 4 nice snappers and a dorado. We are in for a bit, still trying to get more pictures for everybody.  Manny

April 3rd- Today is the first of 3 in a row, and we did a lot of looking. We likely traveled over 120 miles in our search. Beautiful water, just not much sign of anything. Tomorrow is another day. In March we went out about a half dozen times with decent results. Not any pix to show for them, but hopefully we'll give all of you something to see soon Thanks, Manny

pv302 008.png

March 2- Andres came down for a day and we were hoping to pick up where we left off. Started a little slow, and that may have had something to do with the full moon. By late afternoon we had released a giant Pez Vela around 140lbs and had 5 small tuna chilling in the ice box. Finally at the end we had a 180lber come flying thru our 2 kite baits and the sounds of Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz was music to our ears. Basil's windon and the Hayabusa hooks held beautifully and the fish was flopping on deck in 20 minutes.  Capitan Manny

March 1- Went out today for a little fishing and came back with some nice tuna. 3 fish including a football, a 120lber and una vacona. We were back in early as the seas got a little bumpy. Manny

mexicopv200731.png

Feb 20-21- Jason from BD sent a couple of amigos down south for 2 days fishing. Day one we did some searching and caught a few fish, but day 2 we really got rewarded. A tuna fiesta in PV is what everyone wants, and we got it. 5 Tuna to 150lbs and a pair of Dorado made for a really great day. Manny

img_03491.png

Feb 18th- Tom and Dennis fished a day with us and gve us all some hope on what's to come. The tuna finally seem to be bite mode, and we are looking forward to it. We score a good looking bull Dorado and Dennis got a nice size atun on a blue/white Ranger and a Cabo spinner. Manny

img023.png

img020.png

Feb 10-11- Lawrence's amigo Casey came down for a couple days of fishing. We alt least gave him a taste of what Vallarta has to offer. Dorados and Saild on day 1, and 5 good size Dorados on Day 2. He'll be back and we'll give him a taste of what he missed this time. Thanks Casey for the good time. Captain Manny

207pv 003.png

Feb 7-8- Andres came down for a couple and we headed to Banco. Water was pretty green, but there was still a sign of fish. Tunas were jumping but not interested in much we had to offer. Scored a nice Dorado on the kite and 6 snappers. Went to Corbetania late where there wasn't much sign until the end, and that's only after we made a run to 6 miles west of the rock where fast moving small schools of 60-80lbrs made a showing. Just didn't have enough time to work them, and it looked they were feeding on baby calamaris. Hopefully this water cleans up and it likely will go off. 2nd day we had our butts handed to us, we were headed 35 miles outside of the bay in search of a nice break with blue water, the wind picked up to 20 knots and solid stacked whitecaps which was going to make it hard to spot porpoise or birds so we turned toward cabo corrientes and checked out some real estate. Out this weekend. Captain Manny

Jan 28- Sorry for the lack of reports, just didn't have many pix to share. This day we got into some of the smaller tuna, but it's always good to pull on something. Manny

Jan 13- Well, look at it this way, any day on the water beats a day at work. Right? Weather steadily came up today and we got a bit of a beatdown. Tomorrow is forecasted even worse so we will be staying in. I'm off to Barra for about a week, but if any of you want to fish call or email me, these fish look like they'll be here awhile. Captain Manny

pac1-3-07-2.png

Jan 12- A couple of tuna and a nice dorado for the day. Again plenty of fish seen, but they are keyed in on what we don't have.

Jan 11- A couple smaller tuna caught, with lots more seen. A big boat really messed it up for the rest of us today.

Jan 10- Made it out again today for the first day of 5 straight. Bait was extremely difficult to make, but we made the best out of what we had. We scored a nice solid 130lb tuna on the kite, and caught the biggest sailfish we've seen in a couple of years. We estimated the sail to be around 160lbs, a big one for sure. Out again manana. Captain Manny

Jan 3- With all the fish out there no way were we staying at the dock. Took a crew trip with Juan Pablo from Top Gun and Mitchell and we put a bunch of fat tuna on Pacifico's deck. 4 tuna, all in the 120lb-150lb range, was our score for the day.   Manny

Dec 29- Went out for a day and we got a nice dorado and a Sailfish. Kind of tough making bait though we saw lots of it.   Manny

Dec 25th- Feliz Navidad y Prospero 2007

Manny, Luis y Andres

santamarlin.jpg

Dec 22- Pacifico went out on a last minute trip on the 21st. We picked up our amigos in Mita and headed for the pastures. When all was said and done we had one of our best days of the year, and finished with 4 tuna from 130lbs to a giant of 286lbs. Late season of wide open fishing is a real treat, throw in that the boat traffic on the high spots is very lite and many times we have the ocean to ourselves. Feliz Navidad everyone.  Captain Manny

Dec 20th- I know you guys are dying for some updates. What I can tell you is that the fish are out there right now, and instead of the 100-140lbers that were polluting the rock, we are now seeing some solid 250-300+ lbers at banco. Mi compa Juan scored a 250 yesterday and much bigger one escaped to fight another day. I have been out on Aleta a couple times and what we are seeing is some exceptional sign of big fish. The fact is that there just aren't a ton of charters happening at the moment. We are out on Pacifico again after Christmas and we will report soon after. Happy Holidays amigos, we will talk soon. Captain Manny

Dec 4th- We did some serious ocean coverage today, to banco and beyond, way beyond. A Blue and some Stripers decided to jump on our rigs, and though it provided some excitement, they decided to jump off before we could get the releases. We'll be out again over the weekend. Manny

Dec 1st- Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. We headed to Banco por nada and trolled to Corbetania for the last part of the day, again por nada. A few boats got into them, but it just wasn't our day. Pacifico goes again on Monday. Manny

img_0252.png

Nov 29- Cappy went out again and although we had decent action, the tuna dug their snouts in the mud. Good hits by some marlin, sails, and dorado though. Back out on the 1st. Manny

Nov 28- Cappy's going out again manana, but we thought this is a good opportunity to thank our sponsors. Pacifico is indebted to Martin Yoshida at Yo's Custom Rods, Basil Pappas at BHP Tackle, and Larry Coffeen of COFE Products. Each of these men strive and represent perfection in their respective fields. With the amount of abuse tackle takes in a charter operation, and then throw in the 110 degree plus weather elements that Vallarta throws on top of that, It's a testament to the quality of work they produce that there is such minimal amount of equipment failure on Pacifico. Every single rod on Pacifico save 1 was wrapped by Martin, every 2 speed reel, Penn or Shimano, has been blueprinted by Larry, and now every wind-on to the terminal connection is made by BHP Tackle. If they weren't the best at what they do, their product wouldn't be on the boat. Pacifico will never pick up a sponsor and then use their product, we will always test a product first for an extensive period of time before we'll even consider a professional relationship. We dont' shill, and never will. Thanks

Nov 27- Cappy Say, aka Captain Jay, came out from the Northeast, and did a little fishin with the Mrs. Scored a handful of tuna from 130 to 210lbs and called it a day. I don't know what to say anymore, this bite just keeps going and there's no slowing down in site. The quality grade of fish is outstanding, and then you throw the quantity in the mix, and you're just thankful for what's been given to us. Captain Manny

Nov 26- No fishing report, we'll be out Monday though. My US telephone # is getting a fast busy when dialed from the states as all Verizon phones in Mexico are. Until it's fixed you can call me on the Mex # at 01 152 1 322 227 6068 . Thanks, Manny

Nov 25- Well, so much for going deep. We got out early but the client requested we be back at the marina by 2:30. Short day, but we still managed a nice Yellowfin that went about 130lbs. And the better news is we will soon have a video to share with the rest of the world showing the nice marlin release from yesterday, along with the other action that went with it. Captain Hogg and party were a pleasure to fish with and we look forward to their return. We're in the slip tomorrow but will be back out Monday.  Captain Manny

Nov 24- Pacifico rolled out of the marina this morning with some high hopes and excited anglers. When they rolled back in they were able to tell us about a nice released marlin, and a score of a good sized cow dorado and a hefty tuna. Gotta appreciate the variety this fishery delivers on a consistent basis. Out again manana with the same group and I have a feeling we're going deep. Hasta pronto compas. Manny

1122pv11.png

Nov 23- Happy TurkeyDay to my American compadres. We are in the slip today, but I have a report for yesterday the 22nd. I don't know what else to say other than every bait we had out was attacked. It was so good that our client called it a day before 11 am. Quality and quantity were plentiful, as we knocked down 3 vaconas and 2 more over the century mark. Had we stayed all day we could have had them spilling over the gunwales or released an entire school. It was that good. There's no reason this hot bite can't continue thru the end of the year, bait is plentiful, water clarity and temps are really ideal, and Pacifico is running as well as she has all year.  Captain Manny

1122pv4.png

Nov 21- After a fun but frustrating Torneo de Pesca we are back on Pacifico. It was a wild day today, with 7 strikes on the big baits. 3 fish over 100lbs with the biggest tuna at 210lbs came over the rail. We are out again tomorrow. Manny

1122pv3.png

1122pv2.png

Nov 14- Excellent day at Corbetania though the weather was up a bit. Released 2 nice size Blue Marlin, one about 400lbs the other a solid 500lber. Hooked 5 tuna, 2 quickly popped off and the other 3 were fought awhile but still ended up as long distance releases. Boat is running really well, and an excellent sign of bait and pelagics all around. Manny

Nov 13- Hit the banco early and then ran to Corbetania. Scored 2 dorados 30-40lbs and one tuna around 60lbs. Manny

110306pacifico.png

Nov 7- Sorry for the delay amigos but had a few camera issues, a few outside issues and the boat was out of the water starting yesterday but is now safely back in the slip. New trimtabs, new rudder shafts and a quick inspection of the bottom and we are good to go. We've had 6 trips since last report and fishing has been very good. A nice fish of 268lbs was caught friday on the last trip, and we've had multiples of marlin, 100+ tunas, sails and pargos. As we get our things in order we'll post some shots. Gracias amigos, Captain Manny

Oct 29th- We picked up our passenger in Punta de Mita this morning and headed out with high hopes. We released a Black Marlin and a Sailfish, and had Blue Marlin come off. Tunas are hiding today, we try again tomorrow. Reports and pix will return next week. Captain Manny

Oct 28- Decent conditions at Banco today, we scored a nice 40lb Dorado with lots of bait in the water. Manny

Oct 25- Sails and Dodos today. Conditions are still good with lots of bait in the area. Water is blue and temps are aoriund 84 degrees. Manny

Oct 23- The mojo is working, 2 more big tuna of 280 and 150+lbs today. A 350lb marlin release and a fat dorado. With what we see out there and the water temps for this time of year I think this good fishing could last awhile. If you're thinking about it, just bite the bullet and come down. Manny

Oct 22- Productive day today and we were back in the marina early so our client could get back in time. Out at the rock we scored tunas of 30, 60, 130, and 180lbs. Also got one 40lb Cubera. Weather looks like it could take a turn for the worse in the coming days so we are crossing our fingers. Manny

1022pacifico.png

Oct 21- Right when you think things are ready to bust wide open......nada. The current has returned from the NW, and although some boats did well dragging dead baits for Sailfish and Dorado, we were targeting Giants, and didn't see much indication of our targeted species. 1 boat got into some 50-60lbers late at the Rock but that was about it. Out again manana. Manny

pacifico1020.png

Oct 20- Just got in, seas are still up a bit, but fishing picked up. 2 tunas today, one at 180lbs the other at 120lbs. Good sign with lots of bait and beautiful blue water out at Banco. We are out again tomorrow. Manny

Oct 19- Not much to report today, seas are a little bigger than normal. Manny

Oct 14- After watching the last 2 days, we decided to leave a little later and stay out a lot later. I was going to wait these tuna out no matter what. Lucky for all of us, we started metering tuna in the late afternoon. And finally we hit a flurry when we had the whole ocean to ourselves. When we finally got back to the marina at 9:30 in the evening we had 3 nice tuna to show for our efforts. An 80, a 115 and a 140lber had our clients ready to make plans for a return trip.  Captain Manny

dt11.png

Oct 13- Reporting in with a catch including 2 good size dorados, an 80lb tuna and a smaller tuna around 30lbs.  Manny

dt31.png

Oct 12- First day with a new group, led by the inimitable Fishybuzz. One sailfish and missed a good strike. We're just getting started though.  Manny

Oct 10- Another day in paradise, we released a tuna estimated at 140lbs and caught a large bull dorado. We are still flying from yesterdays catch, a whopper that went 375lbs on the IWS scale. Pacifico's biggest to date, and PV's biggest of the season. That's 2 over 300lbs in our first season, and I'd like to thank all of my amigos that let me fish with you. All of you let me do what I do, so thanks. Captain Manny

Oct 9- Wow, today went a little different. First we get a 175lb tuna and then after 2 near misses, the one we were looking for decided to stick. Anglers Adam Stein and Dan McBride with the honors. Fight took 45 minutes. After a run home to the marina, we lifted a gorilla tuna that went 375lbs.

Img38.png

pac1010.png

pac1091.png

Oct 8- 1st of 3 days and we work hard for a Sailfish release and a 60lb Tuna. After getting reports over the last few days we had high hopes, we'll hope for some better sign tomorrow.

Oct 7- Fishing has picked up, but unfortunately we have been at the dock for the past few days. Tomorrow we start a run of fishing 6 of the next 7 days. So send us some good karma and we will report soon. Gracias, Manny

Sept 28, 29, Oct 1- Conditions are still a bit tough, not much to report. Tourney was over friday and saturday with a tuna caught on each day and 1 marlin released for the tourney boats. Manny

jerrychicago21.png

Sept 20th- Nice Tuna 120lbs, 1 more 100+, 7 more 30-50lbs. Thanks for the great trip Jerry, maybe I'll visit Chicago in the summertime. Here's his pic. Captain Manny

Sept 19th- Missed a Marlin, missed a sail, scored a small dorado. Manny

Sep 11- Hearts and prayers are with my American compadres on this day. Tuna boils are seen, and we nail a 120lb yellowfin. Fear not compas, the tuna will come. Captain Manny

Sep 7,9- Marlin, marlin, and oh yeah, more marlin. With a few Pargo. Paradise for the big game marlin fishermen, with 5 releases on the last 2 trips. Have a few upload issues for the pix, so it will be a few more days until current ones will be up.  Manny

Sep 5- We just got back fishing starting yesterday and conditions are improving, we are getting our share. Probably will have an update with pictures in the next couple. Get ready! ;)  meantime here's a shot of the pargo we got just before the storm.  Manny

craigspargo.png

Aug 31- Everything here in Vallarta is OK. Hurricane John passed thru and all we got was a little extra rain. So no worries about coming here and fishing. See you soon. Manny

Aug 25-26-  Craig Walton and his father and Danny Pena returned for a couple of days fishing. They were Pacifico's first guests, and since they had such a great time back in June they came back for more. Day 1 got them a tuna close to the century mark when the rest of the fleet blanked, and day 2 saw them land a nice 45lb Pargo. We're off for a few days and along with a bit of rest we'll be doing some boat work. We have an opening the 3rd week of September, a window of about 4 days that just became available, so call or email me if you would like to join us. Gracias Compadres, Captain Manny

mels186.png

Aug 20-23rd- 4 Dias with the Senor Tuna crew produced one solid day of results. We had a good opportunity day one that didn't stick, but on day 2 we were able to pull out a late save. A nice pargo and a 186lb Yellowfin caught on a flylined caballito were the final results. Day 3 was tough and day 4 even tougher as the weather came up.

melpvtuna11.png

Aug 18, 19th- Well, Todd and the Rouhier Reelers rolled into town for a few days of fishing. Fishing is still sporadic, but getting one, maybe 2, good shots a day is possible. And on the 2nd day we jumped on both when we had a double hookup to start the day. A medium size Blue and a monster Black may have been hooked at the same time, but they sure had other ideas as to how long the fights would last. Anglers chose to keep both fish, and the bigger one is definitely trophy size. Also a nice pargo shown.  Manny

vallarta may thru august 0721.png

vallarta may thru august 0811.png

Aug 14, 15th, 16th- Fishing is a little mixed for these 3 days. Some real early bites and some real late bites for a few boats. For us it was a bit slow but on the last day we released an estimated 170lb Yellowfin at the boat. I just got a few pictures in from the last trip. And while we would have really liked to release the marlin it was bleeding really bad and had fought for over 3 and a half hours. So for those coming down, please realize that a 30-50 size reel on an 80lb stick is not enough for some of these fish. Can you get it to the boat? sure, half the time you might. But the chance of the fish making it after release is very bad. Along with good drag you need cranking power, and that's something a 70 or 80 size reel can give that the smaller ones just can't. Enjoy the pix, thank you Kil Song for the pictures

p222.png                 Img29.png

p226.png

Aug 11th,12th, 13th-  JACKPOT!! Finally our targeted species show up along with a monster Blue Marlin! 2 Cows and a near 900lb Blue in 3 days of fishing. Will post some pix by tuesday, I'm super tired amigos and have about 2 weeks straight of non stop fishing ahead of for myself and Javier. But I can finally say that things are looking very good right now. See you all very soon . Captain Manny

Aug 3rd-4th- Andres and Stan Vath fly down for the Bloodydecks tourney. With very scattered reports of big tuna and strong current at la roca hopes were still high. And while they scored 2 marlin releases the tuna had lock jaw. It was a tuna tournament with not a single tuna caught. Still a good time though, tourney was well run and still had some excellent prizes.

dsc02116[1].png

July 31st-Aug 1st- Tomas aka Dr Loco and Steve came to fish for 2 days with us. Conditions are still tough but we managed a 100+ lb Yellowfin on day 1 and a 90lber on day 2 with a release of Steve's first Marlin.  Manny

July 28th-30th- Pacifico spent 3 days with the same group and while fishing isn't great for PV at the moment, we still scored some respectable tuna to 90lbs and an anglers very first Blue Marlin catch.    Manny

July 17th- Pacifico has had a week off, but she is still hot. We fish today at Banco and come back with 3 flags flying. We release a sailfish, a Blue Marlin, and catch a good size tuna over 150lbs that we caught on the small caballito bait. Picture to come later, I hope. As we are still the new boat in Vallarta we have excellent dates available, so if you are thinking about coming down email me or call me so I can tell you what is available. Since the big tunas were caught so early in the season many people have contacted me, so please confirm if you are coming down. Hasta Compadres! Captain Manny

80630636-m-1.png

July 10th- Dennis and Mark run to Corbetania to get as much fishing time in as possible before the flight back to California. 2 Blue Marlin released, the first a good sized fish estimated at 520lbs, and the second a small relative under 200lbs. They head home with many great memories, and quite possibly the trip of a lifetime for some. But remember, this is Vallarta, and anything can happen. It is an incredible fishery, one that you should experience at least once in you life. Of course there are some that have an incurable addiction to the place. Can't wait until Dr. Loco shows up.   Captain Manny

July 9th- Amigos, the boat is muy caliente! Thru 4 days of fishing plus the ride from Cabo, Pacifico has already caught a dozen small tuna, 3 more to 100lbs, 2 more at 114 and 124lbs, a 239lber and a season best 323lber. And that doesn't include 2 Blue Marlin released plus 1 Black marlin released. And now, today, we catch and release 3 more Blue marlin between 300 and 400lbs. Many boats catch marlin today, unfortunately many were kept, including a reported 800lber. On Pacifico, I can only do my best to encourage releasing these beautiful fish, but ultimately it will be your decision when you fish with me.   Captain Manny

80630635-m-1.jpg

July 8th- Big day amigos! Pacifico lands biggest tuna of Vallarta for the season, on only her 4th trip!! Not only that, she gets 2 vaconas over 200lbs! Morning bite and Dennis gets a 323lb Yellowfin, afternoon bite and Mark lands a 239lb Yellowfin after long fight. Mark, eat your wheaties! Hasta pronto!    Manny

July 7th- Bloodydeckers Mark and Dennis arrive for 4 days of fishing. Tony will fish Pacifico these days, as I am fishing Aleta. Pacifico goes to Banco and release 1 300lb Blue Marlin after very quick fight.   Manny

dscf0358.png

July 4th- Andres came to Vallarta for 1 day of fishing. We slow down and troll 8 miles before banco and watch several boats pass in hurry to get to banco. We find spinners and catch 15-25lb tuna all by ourselves for about an hour, then we call in a couple of boats before we go to banco. We get good sized Black Marlin of close to 400lbs and release after very good fight. Marlin was muy fuerte! Good day, many tuna and 1 Black released.  Manny

dscf0349.png

June 29th- ok amigos, first trip, first report, first blood! We ran to banco to start, and after noticing not much life we head out west searching for spinner dolphins. We search, we find, we catch! We get 5 on the boat, we lose 5 others. 3 tuna to 100lbs, 2 more at 114 and 124lbs. We had 1 on for 90 minutes and at color before it chewed thru leader. So far, so good. hasta compas!   Manny
